here's my freshly acquired (or should I say traded in) Explorer II ref 1655 nicknamed Steve McQueen by Rolex collectors....although I have never seen any picture of the actor wearing this model....
Mine is 1976 example, purchased in Argentina in the late 1970's by the only previous owner:
