Some thoughts about my VC Overseas.
This is certainly my favorite luxury sports watch and I would choose this one always over the other well known competition.
With the latest generation VC managed to give the watch a more modern and clean look, leaving the somehow outdated 70's look behind.
The watch has some technical features and specifications that make it unique:
- the easy change strap possibility for unmatched versatility
- often overlooked but so important for the wearing comfort : the easy bracelet extension feature
- 150 m waterresistance and anti-magnetic properties for care free day-to-day wear
Initially I was interested in the Chronograph version but that one proofed to be too big for my wrist. The 41 mm base model is working fine on my wrist (16.5 cm) while still looking bigger than the stated diameter.
The silver dial has a perfect legibility with some great lume.
The movement is beautiful with a superb finish.I added a few hi-res macros to show the very high quality level of the finishing. Only regrets is the lack of a hacking stop second.
I wear the watch mostly on the bracelet but I also appreciate the possibility to put it on the rubber strap for more casual wear and during very hot weather periods. The leather strap option is also interesting but rarely used by me.
This could easily be the perfect watch for a one-piece collection. Well done VC!

I full agree with you. This is my favorite watch for a one watch collection, followed by a platinum Yacht-Master 40 mm and a white or silver dial Datejust 41 mm.
However, out of these three, you could only get away with the Overseas as a dress watch.

Personally I prefer the size of the Gen2 49150 which wears smaller but there is no doubt VC have raised the bar with this newer version. Wear in good health!

I always enjoy photos of your blue version which is equally tempting. I struggled some time between the blue and the silver version but then decided for the silver as I have already a few blue dialed watches in my collection.
Easily the most versatile watch I know.
