The Reverso Platinum Nr 2 >>>
The Tourbillon in the Reverso line begins to be a tradition.
In 1993, JLC launched the First Reverso, in a Limited Edition of 500 pieces, in Rose gold:
Then, in 2003, JLC does it again, but this time, in platinum, with a White Gold movement.
As we could think that this Tourbillon Reverso Platnium Nr 2 would have been presented in a XGT case, because of the 70eme, which was produced 2 years before, JLC made another choice, using the GT and not the XGT Case.
Let me introduce you ( well, you all know it...), the beast.
1st, the watch in its general aspect:
The combo is perfect:
Navy Blue quality Crocodile strap fitted with...a platinum folding buckle ( which I always appreciate on a platinum watch ), Platinum Case, Ruthenium dial, some nice and small touches of White ( second counter and power reserve indicator) and Blue parts ( hands), the watch looks great!
I appreciate a lot the symetrical disposition of the dial with the Power Reserve indicator at 12 and the little second at 6, which give some curves to the whole rectangular design...
On these 2 next pics, you can see the perfect balance of the watch...I think these are the nicest pics of the Platinum Nr 2 I took.
Now, the case back, and the show goes on....Always in a symmetrical way, at the difference with the Reverso Tourbillon in Rose Gold...
Isn't this tourbillon presented in a very well balanced way?
Now, some macros, to have in better in depht view of the beauty...
1st, the dial:
I only have 1 good pic of it...All in subtility, and class. The Ruthenium is something really amazing.
Instead of the guillochage of the 70eme, you have here a smooth dial, the same silver powder numbers, and very thin hands, which give the watch the look of the perfection!
2d, the Movement:
I had fun taking these pics, and I choosed to go from the whole watch till the Tourbillon...
This is just spectacular.
First of all, which is evident on the first pics, is that the design is really achieved...
In a Rectangular basis, you have the " Cotes Soleillées " finish, all these cotes reaching the tourbillon in a nice and esthetical dance...
Al the geometrical figures are harmoniously disposed, here...The curves are perfectly integrated in the rectangle of the caliber, and in the circle of the Tourbillon Cage...This is a great work!
Let's go deeper...
The finish of the mainplate, wheels, and the bridge is truely something impressive...
And more here, with the tourbillon...
And the Wrist Shot...the Ultimate test...
To say all, I would have prefered to see it in the XGT case rather than in this GT case...
But once you have it on the wrist, you doubt, as this watch is one of the most elegant, and beautiful Reverso.
Should it be the same with the XGT Case?
As to end this post, an observation and one question:
As I previously said, it seems that the Tourbillon is for the Reverso family a tradition:
1993, The Rose gold.
2003, this tourbillon platinum Nr 2.
2004, the Reverso Tourbiilon skeleton in platinum:
2006, the Triptyque,
A question, and more than a question, a secret hope...Will this Tradition go on?
Best to all.
