10 weeks and 5 days later, my Senator Perpetual returns from service. I shipped it to the dealer, who shipped it to the US repair facility in NJ, who shipped it back to Glashutte for factory service. The details of this chronic calendar problem (same problem on three brand new replacement Senator Perpetual models) are documented on this site. The only service notes I can see are ?Complete Overhaul.? No details on what the problem actually was or which parts, if any, were replaced. All phone calls to GO US service center handled very professionally and with concern.
The watch was completely refinished and looks brand new, except for the alligator band that has not worn very well. I believe that only the movement is returned for service and many variables affect the wear of a band so I did not expect this to be refurbished in any way. However, considering that I have gone through 4 of these repair/replacement attempts since November of 2003, it would have been a pleasant surprise to have a refinished band.
I requested that my date, without the leading zero be kept if at all possible because I prefer this display. I do not know if GO was able to honor this request as today is the 21st and I am fearful of resetting the date!
The million dollar question; ?is it really fixed this time?? I certainly hope so! The original Senator Perpetual is such a beautiful timepiece.
Regards,
Michael
