First major trip abroad for my latest Grand Seiko - namely to Singapore. And while the croc strap cannot be said to have been made for the climate, it works well enough as long as you spend most of the time indoors - i.e. in nicely air conditioned spaces.
Here at one of the more pleasurable activities in Singapore - namely food
The trip was a rare treat in that I could actually read a physical book (those things made out of paper) - something my daughter does not tolerate at home just yet
Unlike in Europe, where the watch flies completely under the radar, I've had several people ask me about it in Singapore, and they knew more or less all about it (or at least had a strong appreciation for the brand). May even have convinced one to pull the trigger (on a 62GS, though)

Sadly - in spite of having visited several watch shops - I did not come across any in the shops. Robin also told me that most Singaporeans would rely on Japan trips for their own supply.
In any case, it has been a great travel companion and it remains true to its 'Special' designation in terms of precision. I do not have any instruments to measure it with but over my ownership so far it has averaged something like 1,3 secs fast a day, which is well within stated parameters (as measured against Watchville). Not bad at all

In fact I find it has slowly but surely relegated the Chopard Chrono One to second place in the most frequently worn stakes
