Romain G is an engineer of micro michanics but got infatuated with watchmaking since even before going to uni
Romain to this day doesn’t see himself as a watchmaker and maybe he isn’t in the scene that he didn’t actually work by his hands on watches BUT nonetheless he kind of IS
Romain lived in Le bressus in the valee de joux
So he was surrounded by many big name watch makers but there’s one in particular that he got to know well and was king of an apprentice nothing the conventional way and that person was none other than Philip Dofour
When Romain started his manufacture back 2005 he was mainly and still is producing parts of some the major brands in the industry creating a reputation of his very very high standards and perfect produced parts
But Romain always had a different perspective about his approach to watch making
He approached it fr an engineering view
And you know what engineers do
They solve problems or enhance performances and adding a new twist
Although he doesn’t like to be considered a watchmaker but Mr Dofour himself begs to differ and says Romain you are a WATCHMKER
when he produced his own watch the prestige collection with the HM model then the HMS
You could clearly see that he was different fro the rest
He followed it up with what is today a true icon of HH the magnificent LOGICAL 1
He then did the insight micro rotor
And then started a new more sporty and more casual watch which is the C
I had the pleasure to meet and actually became very good friends since a few years now
Watches are something but the person or ppl behind them are as or even more important
And that is what Romain is
He is a very humble and nice guy period
Very generous and very accommodating and very approachable
It’s very easy to fall in love with him before his brand and then you start to appreciate the brand too then you get addicted to his watches and always want more
I’m fortunate to now own two pieces and have one more on order and most likely will be ordering more as new things are coming
My first piece bought unseen based only on his explanation was the continuum (now known as the C) so this is the C1 and the only version that is 28 pieces
My second piece or master piece and the CROWN JEWEL of my collection is the insight skeleton
There are a lot of things to talk about this one
That a signal post won’t be enough
The details, the finishing, the interior angles and the small engineering details that no one would actually notice unless you ask
