Recent Arrival: Speedy Mark 4.5
Picked this up recently, and have been enjoying it a lot. I had debated about the Mark 4 vs. 4.5 - the Mark 4 has more "speedy DNA" with the layout of the three subdials and the Omega writing at the 12; but this one was irresistable. Came on a bracelet, which was overpolished and somewhat loose. The Dimodell strap is a good match, I think...

The case looks to be refinished - way too shiny considering some of the nicks - but is quite pleasing on the wrist. The dial has a nice depth to it. Only thing is that it is running a consistent 50 secs a day fast... the seller said it was recently serviced, but who knows. He offered a full refund (and seems like an honest guy) but I couldn't bear to part with the watch

Otherwise, everything operates smoothly and flawlessly. Any advice on what to do?
The centralized chrono minute hand is a lot of fun. But there are a lot of hands, and despite the famous legibility, it can be a bit tricky to tell the time at a glance while the chrono is running. Other implementations of the Lemania 5100 using different colors for the chrono minute and seconds seem more sensible - but with colored hands, it wouldn't quite be a Speedy, I guess

Not a rare bird by any means, but quite an enjoyable hunk of 70s funk!
