Question about Patek service/restoration for a small damage on dial

 

Hi everyone, hope you are all enjoying this wonderful Friday!

I have a Patek 5146J-001 that has a small scratch/blemish on the dial that can only be seen under direct light shining at a certain angle. How that scratch came about is mystery to me since I am not the first owner... However, the blemish is faint enough that it doesn't bother me on day-to-day wear.

My question is: When/if I send the watch in for a full service at Patek, will they have any problem fixing the damage or potentially replacing the dial (given the damage might have been caused by a third party)? I understand there will be costs associated and I am okay with that, but wasn't sure if this is something Patek service centers usually do. The watch has all the complete papers and manual, if that factors into the equation. 


Thanks so much for all your help! I just want to have the peace of mind knowing that if I ever want to get it fixed by Patek, I can.

are you looking with a loupe or eye only also as you can only see it under sunlight conditions are you sure its on the dial and not a scratch on the glass creating a shadow on the dial. photo and location would help

I looked under a loupe and it appears to unfortunately be on the dial.

I CAN SEE OTHERS AT 9/10 AND JUST BELOW 12 AND THE ONE YOU SAY-WHICH SEEM TO BE IN A LINE AT A SERVICE IN THE PAST. TAKE THE WATCH TO A PP BOUTIQUE AND SEE WHAT THEY ADVISE,

Since you purchased the watch used Patek will charge you to change the dial, if you purchased new and seen the defect then Patek would change for free.
