New and Happy First Time Patek Owner
I just picked up my first Patek today, the 5056P. Well, not really new because this is a discontinued model but new to me at least 
Had it inspected for authenticity and ownership at the local Patek service centre and then proceeded to have a nice 2 hour chat with the seller about all things horologerie and others.
I've been chasing this piece down for about 3 months now and finally managed to find this in great condition (at least I think it is) and a fair price and a local deal. I was looking at the 5146 but the I think I have this thing for roman numerals and when you add in the annual calender function which for my eyesight (and wallet nowadays is more manageable than most perpetuals, the moon phase and the manner of power reserve indicator which I prefer to the +/- on the 5146, when I first saw the 5056P, I knew it was the one I wanted. I also seem to find it looks better on my less than linebacker size wrist, so the 37mm size is great.
Finally, thanks to all here who suffered my novice questions and provided all the great advice. Have got my sight on the next piece now but that's going to need a lot of resource gathering on my part.
