Perpetual...and Annual
I've had the pleasure of "watch-sitting" my father's 3940R perpetual calendar in recent weeks. Today, for the the first (and only) time I had to manually adjust the date on my own 5056P annual calendar since purchasing it late last Spring. Pretty cool to see them both side by side on March 1st, after the 3940 rolled over "magically." Couldn't resist the opportunity to admire (and share a snapshot of them) them side by side!

I had mine for more than 10 yrs and like you I just adjusted it to March 1.

Actually an excellent pair for father & son : one more dressy classy, the other a bit less complicated and more adapted for a younger but still elegant man. Congrats to you both, wear them in good health ! Mike

And I appreciate your analysis. Like father and son, they share much of the same DNA, but with just enough differences to keep things interesting!
I like those 2 watches. The complications are usefull.

Great pair, and every time I see the 3940 ..
... it reminds me why it is one of the great watches of all time. Great picture.
