Patek 3940 spare case back
Hi Guys;
As mentioned previously I have been looking to acquire a QP and thanks to all the great advise and feedback, I am going to go forward with the acquisition of a 3940 in a non white metal!!
I have learned a lot about different versions of this fabulous and iconic piece and how it compares to its replacement 5140; it had a long production run and sourcing one out should not be too difficult keeping within my budget.
A quick question:
what year was the spare solid caseback added as a standard issue with the 3940? I was not clearly able to decipher that with my research; there were some conflicting reports indicating anywhere from 1992 to 1995.
Is there a movement number and / or case number data base where such information is available?
