Omega Snoopy

The thread is locked, so I have to start a new thread about this Speedmaster Snoopy in order to post a few comments (but not about value, of course...)

I just wanted to say: Be careful... if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

That watch may or may not be a true "Snoopy"... The Snoopy dial can be bought easily, as can be quite easily obtained a standard 145.0022 Speedmaster case, and a complete movement to go with it. It is not hard to put together a pseudo-Speedmaster "Snoopy" that looks like new.

Be careful...

The original Snoopy was produced in a limited edition in 2003, apart from the cahracteristic dial, it also has a special illustrated caseback, a serial number XXX/5441, and the following characteristics:

Speedmaster Professional "Snoopy Award Limited Edition", limited serie of 5441 numbered pieces, in honour of the Apollo XII mission which last142 h, 54' 41", with the patch "Eyes on the Stars" on the seconds subregister and large size on the case back (applied on crystal back) engraved Omega - The Moon Watch - Snoopy Award - Limited Edition - 0000/5441, steel case waterproof 50 m, with bracelet (PIC 3578.51)

It also probably has a serial number >60,000,000 that should also be engraved the 7 o'clock lug, and all the original papers etc.

Good luck!
