Team,
I have some watches from the Planet Ocean line and I was very curious to see and feel, how was my reaction in respect to the Omega latest Planet Ocean incarnation.
To start, let me share my initial perception of the Deep Black.
1) It's a big watch, 45.5mm without the crown, but dresses fine on my meager wrist.
2) The overall finish, case, dial and strap is fantastic, even comparing it with very high end watches. I believe that Omega made an industrial product that they can be proud about.
3) The movement, Omega 8906 is an evolution of the try and true 8500 line, with the addition of the GMT complication and the METAS certification. Great.
My only complain about this gorgeous piece is the MSRP that surpasses by a tad, the Dark Side chronographs.
Let's see some pictures:
The most beautiful PO dial ever:
Despite the size, it fits on my wrist.
Very elegant case back, showing the 8906 movement and sporting the first screw in case back. Omega calls this Naiad.
If my mind is working, Omega used to call Naiad the crown attachment of early Seamaster 300m.
Thanks for seeing.
Cheers,
Nilo
