Old vs. New - Bulova Accutron Spaceview
Wearing an old (1968) Bulova Accutron Spaceview today. Still humming nicely at 360Hz despite its age. Every time I wear it, I can imagine how it was so futuristic when released in the early 60's!
Also dug out my 2016 inspired quartz remake which I still like, a lot more than I think I should. Very smooth seconds hand movement and almost perfectly accurate (I think it is 2 seconds off since I bought it a year ago).
Putting them side by side I find the original comically small (as I often do with vintage watches). It actually looked so small I had to measure it to confirm it did not shrink. I know it does not seem so small at the bottom picture, but it does look tiny when you look at it on your hand.

It celebrated the 50th anniversary (1960 - 2010) of the watch. It's very close to the originals but in a 42 mm size. They were a 1000 watch run. ...
This for me is the ultimate Accutron
The best of both worlds - vintage technology and modern size.
