Not competing with Einstein, but Cicero had another perspective:

IF YOU HAVE A GARDEN AND A LIBRARY YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED…

but I would add “It would be nice to have a wife too,

and a decorated electrical service box

and maybe a garage that’s bigger than my house,

some flowers in that garden,

and perhaps an electrical service box painted to match the flowers in my garden

or painted with my favorite animal

or recognition of my community

and its first responders

or one of my favorite places to walk

and a bus to take my friends along to the walks. This is starting to sound like a Monty Python sketch — what did the Romans ever do for you ...

Coming back to this morning, a Harley with American flag is what gets you into Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery, otherwise you have to take a shuttle bus because cars are not allowed due to parking issues. 😟

So we went back to chasing birds

having to content ourselves with the usual challenges, like getting the birds in focus, and staying upright when smacked upside the head by floral beauty and aroma!

I tried to get the motorcycles in focus (my photo)

(not my photo)

On Memorial Day,

The library gives us historical and cultural perspectives (this too shall pass; there is nothing new under the sun) and amidst the chaos,
the garden gives us a place where we can remember those who fought for freedom.
