New (to me) 5107G plus question on box
Hi everyone,
I just took delivery of my 2nd PP today, the Calatrava 5107G. I am happy to have it and it joins my 5711 1A in my small collection.
I was a bit surprised on how small the box it came in was. It differs from the wooden box I received with the Nautilus. Perhaps it has something to do with the reference, or the year the watch was acquired (this Calatrava was originally purchased in 2002)? Nonetheless I’d like to hear from the more knowledgeable members on the forum. Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

.....a beautiful and classy Calatrava. To be honest, I am not sure about the box. I have not seen one like that before and have not bought watches in that era to verify. It may well be perfectly correct, but I am not sure. Will try to dig into it. Looking...

I have seen some for sale with this type of box and others with the bigger presentation box, so I am also quite confused. I am thinking that maybe it is based on the era, but not sure of this.
It is the right box
Congrats. The 5107 with the flat bezel is more attractive than the 5127 but it is a magnet for scratches. I am biased as I have one in rose gold.

5107 is a great complement to your 5711! All bases covered... Now in terms of the box I am quite certain this is the right box for a watch sold in 2002. This reference was in production for quite a number of years so likely box supplied depends on year so...
How much do you trust the seller?
Always buy the seller, pay a little more even if you have to. I'm not sure that I trust that box either. I'm not sure I've seen a 5107G come in that box. I always like to buy watches from true watch collectors; preferably local, and someone whom I can tru...

My 5127R came in the same box when...
My 5127R came in the same box when I bought it new from Patek in Switzerland. So the box is correct for the watch. The 5107 is a lovely watch in all colors! Nice weight, great size, elegant yet non-conformist! Enjoy it if you decide to take it!

Its an authentic box , that kind of packaging was used in the early 2000s.
The wooden box appeared in 2006 at least here in asia. Thats a really nice Calatrava and what i like about it , is its a screw down. And self winding. Cheers. Enjoy your Calatrava , its a great watch. Geross.
