New JLC Chronograph

I was lucky enough to discuss watches over dinner with fellow Purist Damien Lim and one of his comments was about the sheer readability of his Sinn EZM-1 chronograph (a watch I have always ?not quite bought for some reason???.<<Sidebar: I?m sure there are other PuristS who have watches in that category: must post about that some other time!>>

It led me to think again about the whole dial layout for a new chronograph. I previously posted on the subject of chronographs here asking what PuristS would like to see in a new chronograph:

and also there was some discussion precipitated here:

If posting correlates to interest, I?m surprised about the general lack of interest in a chronograph on the JLC forum ? or am I wrong?

In the Sinn, the use of the conventional minute track to display chronograph minutes (Lemania 5100 movement) makes it easier to read than a little minute sub-dial. I think for a modern sports watch based around the Compressor range, you need an hour counter, say up to 12, but you could consider eliminating small seconds (as the Sinn). Combined with the minute track display for the chrono, that leaves STACKS of dial space. For what???well maybe alarm time indication and even a full Geoesque 2nd timezone dial instead of a ?Dualmatic? extra hand.

A spec like that is getting close to my personal "go away on 2wk business trip do everything I need" watch: i.e. Chrono for timing the 1km swim in the hotel pool, alarm for when that night's hotel buzzer can't be trusted, dualtime so I know which way is up and 200m WR for the hot tub!

Ponder that for a moment while you consider what you'd want and you'll also be surprised at the lack of mix of features on the current ranges. Why isn't there a Dualmatic Memovox for example?

That remains a mystery and deserves a thread all on its own.
