New: Bathyscaphe Complete Calendar in Black Ceramic and Three Colours

 

Here is the new model. I do not particularly love it, but I will reserve my final impressions until after seeing it in real life. Note that all versions are available with a NATO strap or bracelet. What is most disappointing is the lack of micro-adjustment on the bracelet--a pain point for Blancpain as a brand and a real indication that they are not looking forwardly in terms of ergonomics. It would have been brilliant to see some sort of new system, but it's likely we'll have to wait years for anything like that. I'm also not surprised, given that they haven't even bothered to try for models of more regular construction, like steel. Anyway, please consult the images below for reference.

















Of course it uses Calibre 6654.P. Complete calendar, no hacking seconds (a real pity for a diver).

Which is .3 more than the standard Bathyscaphe. Nothing crazy, but it isn't slim.

I don’t love the complications - a bit too busy for me. Esp on a dive watch. But I like the blue color on the dial. Would be interested in seeing it in person.

Tough pill for me to swallow for a bracelet, the first Royal Oak I bought was 11k the 15400. When I bought the Rolex Sub Hulk it was around 8k new at retail, about the price of this bracelet.

Re the point on Hublot before.

Given your desire for ceramic, and clear appreciation for larger watches, how come you’ve never taken the Hublot for a spin? I’ve tried a few of those versions on, and I quite like them. Blue, Green. Pretty cool.

Honestly I thought Hublot put in much more effort to redesign the Big Bang Unico and (re)launched it as the Big Bang Integrated. The intro of a full ceramic bracelet is just a quick jump on the bandwagon

I really like the idea of a fully ceramic luxury sports watch.

It’s light, very scratch resistant, you can practically use it doing nearly any sport without thinking about the horrible scratches you are going to make and also decrease the value of the watch if you plan on selling it in the future. I think that’s what...
