Hey there 👋
Just wanted to share quickly my story.
I have been living in Geneva for the last 12y and working 2mn walk from Patek Salon.
I am 41 and never had a watch before. Always though my first one would be a Patek PC and I would buy it some day when I could afford it.
Bitcoin latest rally fortunately put me in that situation a couple of months ago.
I especially wanted this retrograde model with the silvery dial and applied numerals in pink gold which I think is so elegant even poetic. It really was my dream watch all these years.
Casually browsing Patek website after the summer I realized the watch is not in the catalogue anymore, and then read online the watch has been discontinued. My heart pounced.
Rushed to the Salon to ask if they still had one in stock.
As weird as it may sound, no official AD worldwide had any.
I thought the watch was “relatively” common, but it seems on the contrary that they did not produce so many. Was lucky enough to be allocated the one just before the last to ever go out of the production chain (“reserved by a collector”).
Since then it’s been a love story.
Guys, when you love a watch, don’t pay attention to what is written online. If you can afford it, just do it. There is always a reason to postpone or buy time, but some day the watch is not for sale anymore, and then what will you do ? Buy someone else’s story on chrono24 😉?
Glad to be part of this forum
Talk soon.
