My first Breguet!!
Dear all
Today, I am the proud owner of a brand new Breguet, which I purchased from a local AD here in Singapore.
I started looking for a steel watch in steel bracelet some months ago (all my other watches are too delicate to be a "daily beater") and compared the typical choices of an AP RO, PP Nautilus, VC Overseas, Breguet Marine and Blancpain FF. In the end, I feel in love MOST with the Breguet Marine. My small wrists also meant the AP RO was not so suitable for me (except the 37mm one).... alas, I won't be able to complete my trinity collection (I have a VC and PP unless I consider my Lange Dato to complete my trinity) but that is another story....
I have always loved Breguet (it has always been a contender for me when I got my VC, PP and Lange) and never imagined I would get one of their "sports" models instead. BUT the Marine has a dial to DIE for. I could look at the blued steel Breguet hands and beautiful guilloché dial for the whole day! It is as beautiful to me as their dressy watches yet also robust enough for me to wear it often (esp in humid Singapore where my leather strap watches are less suitable to wear out in the sun), swim with it (100m WR) and has a great looking marine-style gold rotor.
The steel bracelet is comfortable and a bit on the dressy side (those who prefer a sporty look will probably prefer the AP RO and VC Overseas bracelet). For me, I prefer classical/dressy looks, even on my "sports" watch so this Breguet Marine's bracelet is perfect for me. It is a perfect blend of classical/dressy looks on a "robust" watch being in steel and with WR of 100m good for swimming. I understand the FP movement can be more delicate than a Rolex or Omega but I am not intending to be rough with it anyway, so this is still ok.
Some wrist shots to share (one of which taken when I was crossing the road - too dangerous when mesmerized by the watch!). Enjoy!
Cheers,
robin wong
