MARINER DATE or MARINER MEMOVOX ?
I am thinking of acquiring one of them. Ideally the Memovox, but the price difference of the two is just huge. I am a bit on the edge with a decision here ! I am considering it for the look of it, but hard to ignore the alarm complicationè
The Mariner Date is around 10,400 CHF here, while the Mariner Memovox costs roughly 18,300 on the CH website.
Both are available at the Boutiques around here, no problem whatsoever. They look very much the same (dial) and this is why i really like it!
Where do you stand on this? What do you all think? Any feedback is highly appreciated!

Memovox
no brainer, I'll pick the Momovox. Other brands also produces the date, but only a handful few make the alarm watch.
Both: Mariner Date + vintage Memovox. Will cost less than just a Mariner Memovox.
And there are a lot of styles of vintage Memovox to choose from to suit your taste.
If you want to, you could just buy the master control memovox
You lose the water resistance, but gain a more wearable and thinner watch, for little over the price of the regular mariner
Just an opinion, but I think you would
have to use the alarm function A LOT to even begin to justify the price difference.
Thats the risk and probably also a "mistake", if you have to ask yourself, "why didnt i buy the alarm...."
If the difference in price wouldnt be that of a retail reverso, it would be a no-brainer for me

Sounds like you perhaps already have some misgivings about the usefulness of the Memovox function but are pulled by heritage. Also note that the Memovox is somewhat thicker, and quite thick at 15.6mm, as compared to 13.9 mm for the Mariner Date. Neither i...
Glad to hear that. I am sensitive to thick watches, and 15.6mm sounds very thick.
Of course, not all measured thickness is the same. How two watches of similar dimensions wear on the wrist can vary significantly...
I have had the chance to try both of them. As i consider them both "professional" or "tool" watches, thicknes is ok with me and i really think they look better when they are a little bit thick (think of the deepsea by rolex).
So thickness, after trying both of them, is not a topic at all. Both look good! I love the function purely from a heritage point and how it makes the dial look, with the additional ring and pointer !
