Some pics of my blue dial today.
The Laureato-Olimpico Chronograph Limited Edition (330 instances made in the Yves Klein Blue dial) tritium ref 8017.
This is first LAUREATO Chronograph ever created by Girard-Perregaux and was a special project by then owner and CEO Luigi Macaluso.
40 mm and very comfortable. The ref 8017 has a domed sapphire crystal that adds some nuances to the dial. It also houses the GP in-house caliber 3170
An important model for GP it was released in 1996 to mark the Atlanta Olympics in America 🇺🇸.
Interestingly, it was also a tribute ending to the OLIMPICO Chronograph line after about 40 years. No other Olimlicos were made after this.
This is a double signed GP. Rarely done for GP.
In essence, TWO models combined into one. “Olimpico” just above the 6 o’clock sub-dial and “Laureato” engraved on the caseback
As we know, the polished bezel immediately signifies something special. Reserved only for pieces that give a nod to the heritage of the orginal laureato.
If you already have a 3-hander Laureato and want something extra special (this is still quite affordable), this may make an excellent pairing.
A lot of history behind this one.

As always, I appreciate your questions and comments.
