It’s all about the strap!
I have four different straps for this one - navy, green and grey double sided alligator plus this one from Serapian. I was debating which watch to wear today and on pulling this one from the safe I was blown away by the gradient beauty of this strap. I’d forgotten how good it looks with the watch. Good on Vacheron Constantin for creating this match!

Blancpain is hit and miss...
...the older watches usually don't flip the VI. I even gave JC Biver a hard time about it at a WPS luncheon a looooong time ago. Needless to say I don't think he cared : )

To me, the orientation is important...
...not just from a historical perspective (we have an old, English wall clock and the numerals are radial, i.e. not 'flipped'). It's also about naturally reading them. My brain anyway (as OCD as it is) does not want to have 2 different orientations. Same ...
