Improved quality and consistency …
I reported in a post a couple of years ago my observations of the finish of a Journe tourbillon and I thought I should also comment on my recent observations at the Journe Boutique in Hong Kong.
I was able to spend time with a 10x loupe looking over half a dozen pieces, including a tourbillon and am happy to report that the finish, particularly anglage, was of a consistent and high quality and consistent with the market position of these watches.
My previous observations would not have dissuaded me from purchasing a Journe timepiece, it just meant that I would have made sure I had a good look over ‘my’ specific watch before purchase. Now I feel much more relaxed about the finish with these later pieces.
One would expect any company, particularly one as young, by industry standards, as F.P.Journe, to be improving their quality and standards and I was very happy to see evidence of this with my own eyes.
