Girard Perregaux

I made a discovery today!

Friends,

over at the Wristscan I showed the watch I have strapped on today, my Richeville 2710 Chronograph.

I do have a number of GP Chronographs. I like Chronograph designs, but honestly, I hardly ever use this function. It has something to do with the fact that I'm getting old and reading the sub-dials becomes a real challenge. smile

All of my GP Chronographs are automatic wind either with the in-house GP calibers or GP modified ETA calibers, EXCEPT Ref 2710, which is manual wind GP Caliber 8381, which is based on a Lemania caliber.

So,today I let the Chronograph run on the 2710 just for fun and…

Oh no, the Chronograph minute counter is not moving. Is there a problem? Does the watch need repair?? Why did I try??? sad

Okay, second try, everyone deserve a second chance, perhaps just a hick-up.

And Voila, nothing wrong with the minute counter, it's a jumping minute counter , which is really cool and I had not noticed before. It takes approx. 1 sec to jump and indicate when a minute on the Chronograph has passed.

smile

I really don't like the trend of jumping second hands in mechanical watches (looks too much Quartz), but a jumping Chronograph minute counter is much more to my taste.
