Harrison's pendulum clock works...spectacularly!
Dear all,
I just came across this article - http://www.theguardian.com/science/2015/apr/19/clockmaker-john-harrison-vindicated-250-years-absurd-claims - and recommend it highly to you.
Essentially, John Harrison posited that he could build a clock that would be accurate to within one second over 100 days. He was laughed at then; but now a clock has been built to his design and tested: and it lost 5/8 of a second over 100 days!
