This is the PAM 00302. The curvimeter. A handy device to measure the planned/plotted distance on a nautical map. So now I will be able to calculate even more precise when I arrive in the port of destination.

It is important to know some old school ways. In order to survive when the electrics break down.

In the US you can pilot a 100ft boat with no license. If you have safety in mind you need to have some basic navigation skill. Had to get the eu boat license to statisfy bareboat rentals. But in the end neither waters is safer.

On that strap it is fun indeed!
But the watch itself has got such great dimensions (for a Panerai) you will not be able to believe it is actually a Panerai on the wrist! I\'m loving it so far. In the end it will end up with a brown alligator strap probably or maybe (it\'s light enough) ...
The guy up top looks more Army than Navy.
