GMT +/- B D--Impression, Question & Scans (long)

Well, it's been about a month since I bought my new UN, and I must say that I'm still thrilled with the watch. I plan on posting a full review after I have it a bit longer. But, for those of you who cannot wait, it's been running no worse than -2 seconds/day, and I've measured the power reserve at 47+ hours. The overall finish/quality is outstanding, and the new face is stunning and very 3-d (I can look at it endlessly). Finally, the movement is beautifully finished in a very functional way.

I do have one question for those who know such things: has UN recently updated the movement of this watch? I ask because the website, my booklet and available resources all list the UN 22 in the GMT as having 23 jewels, while my watch's movement is clearly engraved "Twenty-Nine 29 Jewels."

I understand that more jewels doesn't necesarily mean better. But, like any watch fan or WIS, I am very curious about the details of any significant updates. Let me know what you know.

Finally, here are a few scans for your viewing pleasure. I'm still trying to get the hang of my cheapo Olympus digi-cam.

Thanks. Greg
