Friday Time-Consuming Vehicle Thread (safe for work)
I used to get out a lot more when I was working, and constantly on an airplane. These are photos from roughly 20 years ago, showing what automotive delights I experienced in 1998-2000. I hope there is something here to please everyone. Pardon the variety of photo image sizes, as I was using digital back then in most cases, although a few are scanned from prints.
This is Goodwood's show-off front display. Every year was crazier than the previous one.

Drag racing semi-tractor trucks on Top Gun's runway. Why not?
The Fast Cat heading to the UK from France

Yeah, a Testarossa. Driven by Roger Clark. I did get a ride but can't remember much about it except there weren't enough places to hold on to.

At an historic car race someone drove this in, and just parked it in the middle of the pit row. I love it.

Somewhere in London and I have no idea why it was there. Looks like a Chrysler show car?

Not Pebble Beach, but Torrey Pines. At a far-away glance looks a bit like a Ford GT-40, but it's a Lotus. With a lovely Corvette behind it.
(not) Everyone loves a Rolls-Royce with a R-R Merlin 27-liter aircraft engine squeezed in the front. Somewhere I have a video of this sucker running.
Jay Leno loved this and constructed his own "Bentley" version.
This is another Rolls I think, given the full copper and brass treatment. It blinded my camera.
On the way to Goodwood one year I saw this by the side of the road with a sale sign in the window. I didn't have enough to buy it then either ... :-(
What car is this? I saw it running but forgot what it was .. thanks to the web I learned it was Smokey Yunick (NOT Eunuch) 1964 Indy car
Oh my, has Jaguar ever built a more desirable car (for a dry climate)? I don't think so. This is the XK180. I have had a model of it on my desk for 20 years.

Volvo Sports Car (are you with me Nico?)

Yes, it's "only" the factory demonstrator but I will probably never be in the driver's seat of another McLaren F1, so I grabbed the chance for a photo

NOW TO CHANGE GEARS A BIT
Poor Englishmen camping vehicle.

Poor American Camping Vehicle

Poor but attractive French camping style
Crazy Rich American camping vehicle

(its 40 feet and 38,000 lbs didn't do my driveway any good)
I hope you enjoyed the show. Bye-bye
