Double Split Platinum production
Hello everyone,
I'm fairly new to the watch hobby in terms of purchasing, however I have admired the different watches and ALS for the the last 20 years- ever since I saw the Lange 1. More recently I have been able to purchase a Double split in Platinum, a watch I absolutely adore and am fascinated by. Even though I know it has now been discontinued, does anyone have any idea if they produced many of these? I understand ALS does not quote number as in the same way Patek doesn't, however I am just curious if anyone has any ballpark figure of say is it a few thousand or a few hundred??

Lange doesn't communicate about production figures...
A few hundreds seem for me closer to the reality than a few thousands. Lange produces a few hundreds chronographs per year and the DS has represented only a small share of this production. Welcome to PuristSPro! And of course, don't hesitate to participat...

Dear Nico I don't think that they made anything close to 1000. My guess is that the number peaked at around a couple of hundred. But like you I am just guessing. Jeff

I was told by someone inside Lange once.
That the annual production of the DS was less than 20 a year while it was in production (in PT). This was due to the extreme complexity of the movement, thus limiting the watchmakers able to produce the watch in large quantities. Congrats on an amazing wa...

it's not like they are anywhere as common as a dato, and when you speak to the Lange watchmakers you get a sense of how truly complicated the watch is. Also, how often do you see a DS in stock ( RG regular production) at an AD or boutique? I certainly don...

During a visit to the manufactory,
there seemed to be 2 watchmakers working on the Double Split. They were working on new watches and servicing other DS's returning to the factory. Production was quite low.
