Dinner with Wilhelm Rieber and some Armin Strom...

The toubillon wristwatch shown in my earlier post (click here to see it) was shown by Wilhelm Rieber at a dinner a few days ago kindly organised by Kelvin Lim of Dickson Watch. Mr Rieber was in Singapore with Mr Andreas Loffler of La Boutique Swiss, a watch distributor in Eastern Europe. Mr Loffler brought along some Armin Strom timepieces which his firm distributes. Most are plain looking on the front but feature ornately engraved movements. The engraving is very well done for the price point, certainly far better than others I've seen like Dubey & Schaldenbrand, and also better than some others that are far more expensive.

This watch belongs to Mr Rieber's wife. You'll note it has a plain Glucydur balance, the watches he makes for customers have screwed balances.
