Buckles
Hi All,
The elegant gold pin buckle of the Piaget Rectangle à l’Ancienne that I reported on recently made me think how neglected this simple but important part of a watch can be. We think more about engineering of deployants than we do about buckles. I like buckles on dress watches so let’s share some examples and what we like about them.

F.P.Journe platinum pin buckle from the Dead Seconds Tourbillon. It's a very simple design, but I love the romantic font - designed by F.P.Journe - and the fact that the metal matches the watch case.

Nothing can beat this one, IMO.
Well, this one is not bad, either: The Duometre à Q.L in WG is, for once, a nice attempt, a link with the Past: To compare with the Vintage JLC buckles: It is reflecting the spirit of a brand: For example, this Langematik Anniversary. Sober, simple, still...
And yet not many put much efforts into it...

...and, by serendipity, that first one is on the wrist today for the very reason that we write of - the appeal of the buckle. (The watch ain't too bad either...) Cheers, pplater....

From memory, you already have the Malte chrono and the 'les Historiques' - the latter with a salmon dial, maybe?? Cheers, pplater.

I owned the Malte Chrono, and sold it, 5 or 6 years ago. Then, I bought this lovely " Les Historiques " Salmon dial... One of the stolen watches, sadly. So, I have to re start it all.... Again. Best, Nicolas.

Accidental beauty
I seem to remember that this picture was accidentally captured when a camera discharged unexpectedly. I kept the image from a few years ago, but unfortunately not the name of the phtographer. Anyway, it's a great picture and an accident to be proud of ......
This is an interesting topic
I am far from base, but for sure I will not miss reading and viewing this to me dear thread. I do not know for the others, but to me buckle(s) can seals my bond with a watch. Thank you for opening up this topic.

Hautlence buckle
Nice & simple. In general I actually like pin buckles so much more that deployant buckles, may be not on a sportswatch, but any other than that. It makes the price of the watch more affordable too. GEO...

But I think Kari's new buckle on the Vingt-8 is perfect for those teardrop lugs! I also have to agree the FPJ buckle is very nice! Simple but well designed!
strangely, amongst my fav is a titanium IWC buckle
very smooth and well cut and machined, which i believe is a material more difficult to work then say SS. best. Horo...
