My wife bought a pre-owned Breguet Marine about 18 months ago. Even though it was running well,we sent it straight off to Breguet (here in Switzerland)for a full service and polish; just so we that were sure it was in tip-top shape.
It came back looking like new and we were Frs800 poorer (approx $550 at the time). They did of course let us know in advance the cost and we had factored that sum into the purchase of the watch,so that was not a surprise. Expensive, but a bargain for a virtually brand new Breguet : Plus, it came with a 12 month warranty.
For the last 16 months this has been her beater - it never leaves her wrist.
A couple of weeks ago, the saftey bar that locks over the bracelet clasp snapped off. While not essential, she took it in for a repair. The dealer sent the watch off to Breguet and we have just heard that they will be giving the watch another complete service AND repairing the clasp free of charge.
They would not expect that type of thing to happen so soon after the last service and are sorry for any inconvience. Not only that, she gets another 12 months warranty!
That is how to build up a brand's reputation and full marks to Breguet for excellent customer service.
Quality - you get what you pay for. That Sfr800 wasn't that expensive after all.
