Breguet Book Feedback Request, PLEASE!!!
Hello,
I am in need of some feedback, if you have a few minutes, read my story, you may have a suggestion, if not you may get a chuckle.
A few years ago, I was looking online for a particular Breguet watch to purchase, when I discovered a book for sale. The book was Sir. David Solomon's book from 1923 on Breguet and the work that he did over his life. So, I decided to bid and ended up in a bidding war for the book... (probably it was one of you guys) I loved the book and looked for a newer version to give out as a gift to a friend. When I found that this book was never reproduced, I thought it should be, because of it's historical significance.
So, against my wife's advice, I reproduced the book in an addition of 2,000 copies. I must note, that I am only a watch enthusiast and not a professional book seller... (I am actually in the Healthcare Technology field). So, now that I have over 4,000lbs of books in storage and besides putting a few on ebay, I had a little website built.
I have sold a few books so far and the feedback has been great. I was hoping to get them all off my hands and on to Breguet North America, to hand out as gifts to their clients... but instead they ordered 5 to be sent to the their museum. I guess a I should be grateful, I have five less than when I started. If, I told you how much money I had in these puppies, you would feel for me! I spent a lot, but I did it right and the books look fantastic. Watch guys are a strange breed I guess, but when you love horology, you love horology. What can I say?
I know you guys and gals are all collectors and fans of the brand. i have thought about doing some of the jewelry and watch shows and set-up a booth, the AD's I've spoken too seem a little cheap to be honest. Do any of you guys have any suggestions, how to best get these out there? Thank you for your time and consideration.
Best regards,
E
