Breguet 3130 / 3137
Hi all!
As a very happy owner of the 7027, I am looking to add an early Breguet to my little collection.
I have been drawn to the 3130 (white gold version) more and more lately. And inspired by the several posts on this forum.
One information which still eludes me is: how is the FP71 movement finished under the closed case back? I guess it’s not hand engraved like on the 3137… but eg is the rotor still hand guilloché?
Also, if servicing at Breguet, can one assume they will provide the option to upgrade the movement (free sprung balance, higher frequency, etc)?

The early Breguet Tourbillons…
… I find marvelous. I have been eyeing a ref 3350/7 or 3657. Which piece did you pass on?
There is a 3310, a perpetual, for sale on C24.
One picture shows the movement and the rotor is a gold rotor with guillochet. The rest of the movement does not appear to be finished to the same level as a xxx7 reference is.

I would assume indeed the movement under the case back is like that opened perpetual, which I like! Thanks for spotting!
You want a guillochéd rotor under a closed case back? No, no one does that.
There would be no point. The Breguets from that time with closed caseback don't have guilloché on the rotor. I guess you could pay Breguet for one now. However, the rotor is likely 18k gold, based on the gold rotors of other Breguets with closed casebacks...

The 12-600 AT has come to disagree. 😜 That said, Breguets are all highly finished in general. The elaborate "7"s are on another level and came well after the original references. Only the original Tourny 3350 started off life like that.
I will reach out to Breguet customer service
and enquire the costs for the “upgrade”. I would let you know when I hear back! The upgrade option is not a must, but a good information to have. It’s interesting to note that the Patek 240 developed around the same time came “native” with a free sprung b...
Some of these "upgrades" are more about saving time for the watchmaker during service.
Something to keep in mind. Watchmakers I've spoken to have said this about free-sprung balances a number of times. But yes, please do keep us informed, I'm interested and I hope you have a great experience (with well managed expectations).
