Back in the Fold Again
I have been trying to get a gold LUC Sport for quite a while now, because I really prefer the way the watch looks in gold to the steel. Sadly, though, my local dealer, normally very negotiable on most brands, either couldn't or wouldn't go much below list, and I hadn't seen any on the resale market.
Well that changed last week, as I was selling my IWC Ingenieur perpertual, and the buyer asked me if I'd be interested in a LUC Sport in part trade. Fortunately, he included a scan; otherwise I would have just reflexively said no without inquiring as to the case metal, assuming it was steel. To my surprise and delight, it ws the 18K yellow gold with black dial, exactly what I had in mind.
I have ordered up a "tire tread" rubber strap with gold deployant for when I want it to be sporty. For now, here is the trader's scan; I will post one, which won't be as good, with the new strap when I get it on.
