Chopard

Good experience at Chopard NY

Went to Chopard on Fri. Apr 1 to get the rubber strap replaced for the racing leather strap. For My MM 16/8407. When i first walked in I was told it was inventory day and they couldnt sell anything. I explained to them I traveled over an hour and the girl called her boss and next thing I knew I had 4 different straps in front of me to choose from. Thumbs up for chopard.

On another note, Ive noticed that the titanium seemed to scratch fairly easier than my stainless Tags. Im an aviation Tech and I did a search for titanium on the web and I came up with this:
Titanium:
The "space age" metal, often with a silvery-gray appearance. Because it is 30 percent stronger and nearly 50 percent lighter than steel it has been increasingly used in watch making, especially sport watch styles. Its resistance to salt water corrosion makes it particularly useful in diver's watches. Since it can be scratched fairly easily, some manufacturers use a patented-coating to resist scratching.
I thought this was interesting, Ive read many places on watch boards that it is stronger than steal therefore is must be more scratch resistent, but it seems to be the opposite. Wish I could explain that one: )
