Automobility 1 LA Auto Show 2016
After a long and angst producing drive to Los Angeles, we arrived at 7 am for this year's car show. But it's no longer car show - it's now a "trade show that celebrates the intersection of tech and auto" as the world "rethinks mobility." Will we have self-driving cars? scooters?
One-person pods?
I'm looking at mobility solutions like autonomous shuttle Ollie, hearing from auto luminaries like Mark Fields, President of Ford.

Jostling with reporters who are angling for a scoop or to get their faces on TV
Standing on my tip-toes with my camera hand high in the air
Walking endlessly across concrete and carpets, stumbling over raised platforms thankfully free of crowds (at 7 am)
blinking under the glare of the lights
shaking my head at the brilliant colors of today's paints
watching guys I've seen regularly for 20+ years look all distinguished, and grown up
(most of them, anyway)
and some who are rightfully promoted to the top of their field;
