Advice on buying a use PP
Hi,
I am considering buying a 5 years old perpetual. The owner says that it has nearly never worn it (this seems true, it is LNIB) and that the watch has spent the 5 years working on a PP winder. I was wondering : spending years working on the winder is fine ? He says this is better for the movement than to stay without working.

Sounds like a nice opportunity
Some people are of the opinion that the watch should stay idle and some want to keep it in a winder. Anyhow, if the watch is 5 years old, you should in every case send it for regular service. After the service the watch is just as good as a brand new one ...

I am one of those of the opinion that don't really favor a watch winder...with the exception of a perpetual...and then, maybe. :-) The obvious reason for the winder is so it doesn't have to be set again if it stops. But, that, in my opinion, is what being...
