A bit of quirkiness.
One of the things I find endearing about the Parmigiani brand is the watches aren't just cookie cutter designs. They have some quirkiness to them.
The Toric Hemispheres Retrograde certainly qualifies for the quirky label. It is a dual time watch with two day/night indicators and a retrograde date complication.
This Toric Hemispheres Retrograde features a stainless steel case.
The crown at 2 is strictly for setting the second time zone time. The crown at 3:30 operates in a conventional manner. It is interesting that the two crowns do not exit the case on the same plane. The crown at 3:30 is below the centerline of the case while the crown at 2 appears slightly above the centerline of the case.
More quirkiness is exhibited on the backside with an off-centered automatic movement.
Notwithstanding these offbeat design elements, the watch is beautifully constructed and meticulously finished like all Parmigiani watches.
