5164A and 5130P with rubber strap
For a while i have been thinking to replace the leather strap on m y 5130P with rubber strap, reason being is that i don't wear leather strap often nowadays and i enjoy wearing the watches in rubber or bracelet the most due to comfortability.
Lately i managed to find a good rubber strap for 5130P and i am not sure if it looks okay from your view? What do you think?
The blue color rubber strap matchs with the blue dial of 5130P quite nice, at least in my opinion. I have snapped a side by side picture together with the 5164A with tropical strap for comparison (apologise for the poor quality pictures, i snapped them with my mobile phone, hope you all dont mind)

Kari, I am sorry, but I beg to differ: if a watch is guaranteed to 30 metres underwater, it can certainly withstand a shower! According to the Patel official site ...we recommend a regular service every five years (three years for non-waterproof models) ...

Please revert to the same page you mentioned and check i.e. "Importance of Maintenance". Several watchmakers have reminded me that the water resistance has to be checked once per year if the watch gets into closer touch with water. Best, Kari
Check the water resistance doesn't equal to service a watch.
You are right about testing the watef resistance of a watch which is often at the contact of water once a year. This rule applies to all watches. Best, Nicolas

I love the idea
but the problem for me is the clasp. I have a Rolex and arranged a great solution for a rubber strap, but only because you can attach a Rolex clasp. I think I know where you found your good looking band - but on a Patek the clasp may be a compromise too f...
Try a good old Nato for the 5130. I think it will suit it better.
The rubber is a bit too... well, too... While it is better for the Aquanaut, in my opinion. ;) Best, Nicolas

Patek goes into great lengths to make sure each watch is made for a particular purpose and designed it accordingly., IMHO, a dress watch like a 5130p is best suited as is with either a leather or ss bracelet. the aquanauts on the other hand were designed ...

I wouldn't wear a rubber strap with the 5130P. I doesn't look good to me, ... but again, it's your watch.

Aquanaut is perfect with a rubber strap, while I personally think it is more situable for a dress watch such as the 5130 to have the original alligator strap. Have a great summer time :-)
