This is the marvelous new DeWitt! It's got a chain drive mechanism for consistent tension. The globe is carved from one solid block of metal. The grid of the globe is lasered out and the continents are engraved by hand! You'd expect this piece to cost a fortune like previous DeWitt pieces, but it's actually a somewhat reasonable 80,000 CHF! Kudos to DeWitt for making such an interesting piece!

...for a nicely manufactured drive and a solid metal globe. Nevertheless I prefer my Vicenterra Tycho Brahe - with its full metal, hand engraved Titanium globe for just 1/15 of the DeWitt price 😉
