Bill provides an exclusive first look at the URWERK UR-210, a timepiece that masterfully blends artistic design with advanced engineering. His hands-on impressions and detailed photographs highlight the watch's unique features, particularly its innovative energy feedback system and comfortable wearability. This article offers valuable insights into a limited-edition marvel from an independent watchmaker.

The Urwerk UR-210 is a notable timepiece from the independent brand, recognized for its distinctive satellite hour display with retrograde minute hand. This model continues Urwerk's tradition of unconventional time-telling mechanisms, combining complex horological engineering with a futuristic aesthetic. It represents a significant evolution in the brand's design language and technical capabilities, pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking.
The UR-210 features a large, robust case, typically crafted from materials like titanium and steel, housing a self-winding movement. Its signature complication is the retrograde minute hand, which sweeps across a 120-degree arc before snapping back to the beginning, paired with rotating hour satellites. The watch also incorporates a winding efficiency indicator and a power reserve display, adding to its functional complexity.
For collectors, the UR-210 stands out as a bold statement piece, embodying Urwerk's commitment to avant-garde design and innovative mechanics. Its limited production and unique visual identity contribute to its desirability among enthusiasts of independent horology, offering a distinct alternative to conventional high-end watches.
I really like this way of showing the time, absolutely fascinating. Great pics Bill :) Yours, Andy.
You often hear about complicated watches that are hard to tell time on and there is always some justifying remark. But as you noted this watch give you the time straight up. Best Bill
I had the chance to see the watch when it was still under embargo and I was truly amazed by it. Still the usual concept but with a very refreshing approach. Thanks a lot for the pics and now... I can't wait to see it in the metal in his final version! Fx
I have tried on various watches that are "Over sized" but this really did sit well on my wrist. Two very important things for me with a watch starts with clearly being able to read the time which this does well and then the fit and feel on the wrist ad this also works well. I am not sure what the height is but OI would guess it not much more than 48-50mm and the with felt like a 44mm watch. I know this can't be accurate but that was my impression. Bill
Thanks Bill for showing these. Would have preferred they removed the blutacks on the components first for photography!! Best, Horo
I am sorry for the lighting but the essence is there. The watch and maker should be swinging your way very soon I will keep you posted. Bill
