Jay (Eire) shares his hands-on experience with the Romain Gauthier Logical One, a watch he seriously considered acquiring. His reflections offer a candid look at the decision-making process for high-horology pieces, balancing aesthetic appeal, technical innovation, and wearability. This article delves into why the Logical One stands out among independent watchmaking marvels.

Two others that come to mind right now are the FP Journe Vagabondage II in PT with baguettes on the bezel. A stunning watch. And there’s a version of the DB28 Blue which is a knockout. Both of these watches are owned by forum members and I believe have been posted at some point.
But the last several years it’s been the opposite. I’d say 7-10 years ago, this watch would have fit OK. I was wearing 44mm and 47mm (at a stretch), the 44mm looked fine though.
...the diamond bezel!
For me definitely without diamond bezel but there is of course a market for this also. What a gorgeous piece, congrats to Romain for a fantastic design and architecture of the movement. Romain a real gentleman for the ones who know him. I still think about our Purists Indies Tour with a lot of emotion...
I don't think it is too big for you... I think comfort is more important. I also prefer the plain version...
I was also lucky enough to strap these two amazing watches on my wrist at BW last year.
