Nicolas (amanico) introduces the Romain Gauthier C by Romain Gauthier Platinum, a significant novelty from the independent watchmaker. His initial impressions, highlighting the exquisite movement and questioning the case design and dial choice, set the stage for a deeper community discussion on this sport-elegant timepiece. This article synthesizes collector feedback on its design elements and material selection.

I've just received this press files from Romain Gauthier.

Here we have a sport looking watch, with some touches of elegance and refinement.

A 41 mm big, 9, 55 mm high platinum case ( 49, 5 mm lugs included ) coming with two white gold dials, one in matte grey, the other in blue, and housing an in house and superbly decorated movement made in 18 K white gold, offering a power reserve of 60 hours, and a stop balance with snail cam.

The bezel is also in platinum, the pin buckle as well...

The applied indices and hands are in white gold.

A sportier Continuum?

What do you think of this one?

Personally, I love the movement, which I really find marvelous and eye catching. I am a bit less fan of the case. And I prefer the Continuum dial.

You?

Best,

Nicolas

IMHO I think it would be much better served with a matching blue rubber strap.

The silver dial with blue printing is the nicest. Very sharp.

For me, I would prefer the grey one more.

My favorite watch paints. For the Continuum fits for me the total grey alteration as a one in one peace. The smal red details, stripes makes all finished.

And yes, the case seems a bit unidimensional and lacking contrast ....at least on the pictures.

Also, why suddenly use Roman numerals?! The Arabic numerals are much more appealing and appropriately fit the sport design language.
