Cocolex shares a truly exceptional Rolex, a 'French case' model from the 1940s that has remained within their family for four generations. This piece not only represents a unique chapter in Rolex's manufacturing history but also embodies a deeply personal narrative of family legacy, resilience, and the enduring power of horological heirlooms. Cocolex's detailed account offers a rare glimpse into a specific period of Rolex production influenced by post-WWII economic policies.

Merci! C'est une longue histoire... It belonged to my grand uncle who passed away tragically in a car crash with a Panhard in the 60's, became my dad's, and mine.. I rescently passed it on to my daughter. This watch is a long story...
May it stay in your family for many generations to come...
Do you much about the history of the watch seeing as it has been in your family for so long? What happened to it with regards to the dial and crown? A very uncommon watch you have there.
It's a long story, spanning more than 7 decades.. So, long story short, it belonged to a grand uncle in France, who passed away in a car crash in the 60's, was given to my dad, who passed away early 90's. My dad's best friend helped to sell the watch as my mum needed money. In the mid 90's, I married, and that friend turned out with that watch as wedding gift. Last year, i jad a rough year healthwise, and I decided to pass it to my daughter, to be able to see her enjoy it...
But watch is keeping good time, still working, although lots of parts are worn, and fragile...
Thank you for sharing, itβs been nice to read about the generational story of this watch in your family. It is a beautiful watch, may your family cherish it in happiness for many generations to come.
