Amanico's post highlights a truly unique Philippe Dufour Simplicity, a 38mm piece with a striking blue dial and no small seconds. This particular configuration, credited to Christie's, represents a significant deviation from the standard Simplicity models, offering collectors a rare glimpse into bespoke independent watchmaking. The discussion that follows delves into the implications of such exclusive creations within the broader luxury watch market.

Special piece 🙌🏼
This is enough to make a holy man swear. And I’m not holy. Good grief. What a thing. I’ll have this one and a regular small-size one with the guilloche dial, please. (Can I get fries with them and make it a meal?) Thanks Nico!
But its definitely something special 👌🏻
I think i still prefer the standard patterned dial with the sub seconds though.
I remember reading a report many years ago, after the initial batch of 140? Simplicity were made, sold and done…some wealthy Chinese collectors was able to “convince” the Master to make another 20 unique pieces. In recent years, a big collector and friend was also helping to build a new “subscription” 20-yr anniversary batch of like what, 20? You have to write him an email, selling your soul and describing how low you are (beg) to deserve that allocation 😂
I’ll take this AND a ‘regular’ one
