I've seen my tastes in watches over the last few years gravitate to classic designs, and more often than not, simple time only watches with the occasional date. I've contemplated this one for a while now, not making the plunge because there is no sample to touch and feel until I met a fellow watchnut recently who had one on Monday. I knew I had to get it. Decision made without hesitation.

The box came in the mail this morning. Everything about this Nomos Tangente Special Edition in 35mm is nice, especially the size and the way it sits on the wrist. The profile and build for the price range is also superb in my view and is just perfect. The shell cordovan strap is one of the most comfortable ones I've ever owned, even better than many of my watches costing many times this. The finishing of the movement is nice enough, not glamorous, but is pleasant to look at and fills the case nicely.

The added plus point is that I know I've contributed a little bit to a good cause smile A small consolation I suppose. I do like the red "12" and the black oxidized hands that a slightly different in character from the standard Tangente.

This was surprising - or maybe it's part of the address? Does someone know why F A Lange's name is on the shipping label?

A handwritten postcard with the Lux on the other side. Quite a nice touch!

Decent box. Not like the heavy and expensive ones, but this works well enough.

Quite impressive finishing at work. Under a 12x loupe, some minor imperfections can be found, but they're not in any way a deal breaker.

The mandatory wrist shot.

Thanks for looking!

Red 12 is the cherry on the cake, too. Huge congratulations. For the watch and for the noble cause. These guys rock! Best, Nicolas

This was right after I was looking forward to the TT Geophysic and there was no watch to see...then met a buddy for drinks and had his Tangente to see I placed the order not much later. I also appreciate that Nomos contributes to a cause without charging their customers any additional premium over the standard offerings, unlike many brands from the conglomerates. Hats off to them! It shows sincerity.

is only the name of the square, " Platz " means Square in German. Nice watch, although it would be too little for my wrist! Congrats! Yours, Adam

Both for the watch and the cause. The red 12 is truly a cherry on the cake; definitely need to try it on, as you claim the strap is super comfortable, and it always looked not quite so to me (although as I said looked - never tried it on). Which size?

You need to try it on to know I\'ve a preference for smaller sizes with 42mm the absolute max I\'ll go. Typically prefer 37-40mm, but this Tangente has some long lugs and with the very thin bezel, it wears somewhat larger than what it says.

I was just wondering but it certainly looks like Lange is well honored in the state for what he brought to them.
