MTR shares the exciting acquisition of his H. Moser & Cie. Henry Double Hairspring, a unique piece featuring a Fumé dial in a white gold case. This post celebrates the exceptional craftsmanship and personalized service from Moser, highlighting the brand's flexibility in creating a truly bespoke timepiece for a discerning collector.
Dear Purists!
Today I have freed my beloved H. Moser & Cie. Henry Double Hairspring from my safe deposit box. A very very good day, isn't it?

Last December I had the luck to find this special beauty at my favorite AD, and it was love at first sight.
A tonneau shaped case (44,1 x 38,6 mm) with a very pure dial (no date) featuring beautiful hand-applied arabic numbers and indices and a small second at 6.
The watch is equipped with a specific, also tonneau shaped, very smooth hand-winding movement including the famous - and revolutionary Straumann double hairspring (in order to exclude gravitational influences).
The movement provides hours, minutes, small seconds and last but not least a power reserve indicator, which is located at the movement side. Due to a large-volume spring barrel, the movement has a power reserve of four days.
Both sides of the watch are fitted with a sapphire glass. So the case back provides a stunning view on an exceptional movement.

The strap of the watch is made from genuine crocodile leather and fitted with a solid clasp in the same material as the case.
Summary: pure, simple, high tech and handmade for eternity.
There was only one single "show stopper" for me. I found the grey Fumé dial much more appealing than the offered silver-plated dial.
But the case of the watch was in white gold and the Fumé dial was only produced in combination with the palladium case.
The solution was simple and effective.
My AD contacted the Management of Moser. And the next day they answered that they had just one Fumé dial left and offered to implement it in "my" WG case.
The last floodgates were opened and the dam fell....

I didn't hesitate one second longer and pulled the trigger.
So one day before Christmas I received my Henry together with the dial of my choice and furthermore a certificate from Moser that this watch is a really unique piece.....

Best, Thomas
