I feel that Moritz Grossmann is always something of a dark horse in the independent scene, quietly making some of the best watches money can buy. Recently I learned of a new release of theirs, in honor of the thirteenth anniversary of the modern resurrection of the brand. This new release is another version of their Benu, featuring a fantastic 'tremblage' dial. The rough, sandy texture is created by hand.

The Benu Tremblage is available in steel or rose gold, and features the fabulously finished calibre 100.1

A fabulous choice!

The hammer winding is very unique.

I like it a lot, especially in steel. Some will argue that 41 mm is bit, but if you look at the movement size, the case cannot really be smaller. The dial is eye catching, the pusher is a great idea.

If they wanted to do it in a smaller case

They could have based the watch on the calibre and case from their Benu 37mm. But I think with this amazing dial texture, it's ok to have a few more millimeters worth of material
